What’s Onstage?

I am a trained theatre director, playwright, and performer with many years of experience working collaboratively in indie/ fringe theatre scenes in the US and Europe. Here is a selection of the eclectic range of shows I have worked on over the years…including some information on my next project!

Essential Work Only

In May of 2020, I wrote, directed, and produced this innovative theater piece created especially for the digital format. Essential Work Only brought together an international cast and premiered via Zoom to audiences on four continents. This play explores the idea of interconnectedness in quarantine as two estranged adult sisters with very different lives discuss isolation, careers, and what to do with their late dad’s ashes over a video chat! Curious? Check out an unedited cut of the play and post-show talk here.

Creating a completely digital theater piece made me aware of the tremendous opportunity that exists for digital theater creation. I am keen to work as a writer, director, or actor with theater companies that are exploring this frontier!

Hear Us Now, 2021/2022 (writer and director)

After the success of Essential Work Only, I founded The Micro Theatre Project to further explore the possibilities that hybrid digital theatre formats have to offer us. Our next show is a digital verbatim theater experience about growing up Catholic in Boston that will connect audiences on two continents, invite participation and ignite action.

I believe there is a new world waiting with greater access to theatre for both audiences and creators. We premiere in Glasgow in the spring of 2022! To keep up with us please follow us on Instagram @hear_us_now_play

Witches’ Gets at Edinburgh’s Cymera Festival, 2019 (director)

Witches’ Gets is a bold, multi-media theatre piece involving movement, dance, spoken word, video, and animation. Born out of a highly collaborative process with the playwright, actors, and designers, the play raises the voices of long-forgotten women in a fresh and innovative way.

Urban Inferno, Edinburgh Alternative Theater Festival, 2018 (writer, director)

Urban Inferno is a lighthearted coming-of-age comedy about finding yourself in today’s fast-paced world based on Dante’s Divine Comedy and set in the modern hellscape of Boston’s public transit system. The rehearsal process included improvisation, collaboration with movement artists and script development with the cast.
